Phone: (93) 377-001 Mayor: Mr. Ferenc Pápai Population: 706 Characteristics: The name of the settlement was first mentioned in a written document in 1468. It had many landlords. Mostly Lutherans lived in Surd. The Zichy family owned it in the 19th century. Most residents are farmers. Many people work in forestry and at the nursery garden of ZEFAG Co. where they grow ornamental trees. There are 28 enterprises in the settlement. Sights: A sycamore, several hundred-year-old sweet chestnut-trees, and 200-year-old wine cellars.
